The house is situated in second line in a fabric of adjoining stalls. It is reached by a long narrow passage between two houses on the street. The challenge is therefore to propose a structure that fills that void by releasing a garage at ground floor and upstairs a spacious parental night.
First, I sought to establish some continuity with the neighboring buildings, either in volume, but also in terms of material selection and alignment.
I then opted for one large free volume in crawling, focusing on the garden side bedroom and bathroom on the street. A carved bedside box / dressing / health / bowls just simply separate the space while retaining the feeling of volume. There is also a soft bed with a desk / TV, stage and finally a double bed 2m long. Garden side, the glass facade will be protected by breezes wood views. Side street, the facade more discreet, take back the stone from the stall next door and the horizontal openings of a adjacent building. The connection to the existing place next room by a sliding door, that connects the spaces between them at night. Light and volume, the service of a constructed situation unique. Continued ...
